The 2017 gun rampage in Las Vegas was a "particularly American horror" that took the lives of 58 victims and left countless others scarred both physically and emotionally. As I followed the news, I recorded the words of journalists and commentators. The name for the quilt came when I realized I had blocked the reporter's word "horror" and had printed "particularly American problem," even using script for the euphemistic word "problem." I fear that we will never confront the horror of gun violence, and I pray that we will find a solution.
